38 Years of Excellence
The New Carlisle Area Community Chorus was organized in 1985 and performed its first concert to celebrate the 175th anniversary of New Carlisle, Ohio. The group is incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State of Ohio and is a volunteer organization. Financial support for the Chorus comes from businesses and individuals in the New Carlisle community and donations from concert sponsors. Membership consists of singers who reside in Clark county and the surrounding counties and who represent all walks of life. We welcome farmers, military officers, engineers, doctors, homemakers, and many more. Whoever loves music and has proficiency in singing good choral music is welcome in this group. This Chorus loves to put on a great show, performing a wide variety of musical styles, from gospel and classical to show tunes, patriotic, contemporary, and the golden oldies!
Since its inception, the Chorus traditionally presents annual spring and Christmas concerts for the community. In addition, the Chorus has performed at various nursing homes, retirement centers, festivals including New Carlisle’s Heritage of Flight Festival, the Ohio State Fair, the Clifton Opera House, the Tipp Roller Mill, and joint concerts with other choruses. Highlights for the Chorus include performances at the Nutter Center as one of the featured groups in the Star Spangled Salute to the families of Desert Storm Personnel – headlined by renowned country singer Lee Greenwood – and backing headliner Andy Williams for the Wright Brothers Heritage Benefit. Another memorable event was the Chorus’ participation with WHIO at their annual Christmas Carol Sing on Channel 7 at the Fraze Pavilion.
The Chorus has traveled extensively to give concert performances at historic Bruton Parish Church in Colonial Williamsburg, VA, Church Street Center, Opryland, and the Hermitage (home of President Andrew Jackson), all in Nashville, TN. The Chorus was also featured at the Tulip Festival in Frankenmuth, MI.
